A Lifetime of Material

Before starting SIL3NT V3RS3 PROJ3CT, Davis spent a lifetime collecting stories. A father, grandfather, U.S. Army veteran, and longtime public safety professional, music was always a constant presence. However, for most of his life, he was the guy making mix CDs and paying attention to how songs flowed.

Between the Army, work, raising children, and navigating life's ups and downs, a massive internal catalog of experiences accumulated. He just didn't know yet that it would eventually become music.

Embracing a New Creative Doorway

Looking for a fresh creative outlet, Davis began experimenting with generative music technology. Asking "what if?" changed everything, leading early tracks like Checkmate, Book of Cliff, and Corners to transition experimentation into actual creation.

The name Silent Verse holds deep personal significance. For decades, his experiences, emotions, and ideas were silent; technology simply provided a voice to bring them forward.

Refusing to be boxed into a single genre, his catalog ranges from Southern hip-hop and blues to R&B, country influences, and cinematic music. This versatility allows lighthearted records like I'm Too Old for This Shit to comfortably coexist alongside deeper tracks like Warrior Spirit.

The Human Element of AI

Davis is completely transparent about using artificial intelligence—including generative music tools and ChatGPT—as part of his creative process. While he initially wrestled with how people might respond, he views the technology strictly as a tool.

The process always begins with Davis: an idea, a memory, a rhythm, or a perspective born from his own life. ChatGPT helps brainstorm, organize concepts, and translate what he hears in his head into instructions technology can understand.

When It Became Real

What started as a personal project soon gained traction as independent radio stations accepted submissions, DJs began playing records like Warrior Spirit, and Vikentis Radio selected him for a two-week artist promotion.

Davis is eager to embrace where the project goes next, expanding music into videos and episodic storytelling. Ultimately, he believes the defining question of modern creation isn't whether someone used AI, but what the creator brought to it.
